    Bob Wills' ex-manager, O.W. Mayo, dies in Tulsa. He handled The Texas Playboys' business affairs from 1933 through World War II, and wrote one of their songs, "Blues For Dixie." He also appeared briefly in the movie "Take Me Back To Oklahoma"

As a member of Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys, he became the first drummer to play in front of the curtain on the Grand Ole Opry, which previously frowned upon percussion. Mountjoy's recording credits include "Roly-Poly," "Stars And Stripes On Iwo Jima" and "Stay A Little Longer"
