    Zeb Turner dies from cancer at the Montreal Chest Hospital. Along with brother Zeke, he was a member of Red Foley's band and recorded on such classics as Hank Williams' "Move It On Over" and "Honky Tonkin'." He also wrote Eddy Arnold's "It's A Sin" and his own 1949 hit "Tennessee Boogie"

    Bobby Lester, who sang lead on The Moonglows' 1955 R&B hit "Sincerely," dies of cancer in Louisville, Kentucky. The song is remade for the country charts in 1988 by The Forester Sisters

    Tenor David Lynch dies of cancer in Carson, California. The singer was a member of The Platters when they scored a 1955 pop hit with "Only You (And You Alone)." The song will became a country hit in 1982 in the hands of Reba McEntire

    Reggae musician Bob Marley dies of skin cancer at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami, Florida. His last name is rhymed with Bacardi and Harley in the 2014 Florida Georgia Line country single "Sun Daze." Marley also gets a shout out in the 2020 Luke Bryan hit "One Margarita"
