Sam McGee dies in a farming accident, run over by a tractor while bailing hay on his property in Franklin, Tennessee. The guitarist and banjo player earned acclaim as a sideman for Uncle Dave Macon, and, alongside his brother Kirk, played the Grand Ole Opry from the 1920s until his death
